I started my practice with one goal in mind: to help create value for those who choose therapy.

I’ve been a counsellor and psychotherapist in Singapore for over 9 years. I’ve served in institutions, organisations, (one) non-profit, the public service, and schools; working with clients from ages 13 to 82 years old.

One thing I’ve learned along the way is that therapy exists in a strange space—a paradox of positive and negative, of happiness and grief.

I get it though. Nobody goes to therapy because their life is “going too well”. There’s usually a pain, a grief, at least a discomfort somewhere.

I used to think my job was to help untangle the positive from the negative, the happiness from the grief; to encourage, affirm, and navigate—all those metaphors. Don’t get me wrong, that is all a part of therapy in some way. But I’ve come to realise something important—something I hold on to and hope to bring to this practice, and it’s that—

It takes real strength to choose therapy.

It’s a bold choice, and I want to do right by those who make that choice.
